This is a highly successful gite business located in the Albères mountains, just 15 minutes from the Med coast at Argelès. It takes the form of four independent farmhouses and cottages set in wooded grounds with three swimming pools.
As one might expect, the houses are all stone-built structures from centuries past, with original features preserved. Comfort is, however, very much 21st century: there are 15 double bedrooms and 13 bathrooms.
The two big 'farmhouses' sleep 10 guests each; the smaller cottages up to 6 guests. One of the farmhouses has a separate one-bedroom flat on the garden floor - very useful for housing a manager or even the owner if the business is to be run remotely.
A characteristic of the business is that guests (and owners) can stroll out the gate and be drinking a pastis on a café terrace within 10 minutes ... before picking up fresh croissants at the bakery on the way home.
The beach at Argeles is 15 minutes away; the Dali museum at Figueras no more than a 30 minute drive.
